Artist Highlight: VEDA

VEDA's emotional anthem "I Breakdown" is this week's Artist Pro highlight - discovered in our Track Explorer!

“I Breakdown” by VEDA is a raw and emotionally charged track that explores being overwhelmed and disconnected. From the first line, VEDA paints a picture of someone grappling with emotional exhaustion and a desperate need for love and validation. Through powerful imagery and the haunting repetition of certain phrases, the song captures the weight of vulnerability and the struggle to stay afloat in a sea of inner turmoil.

The single opens with the narrator feeling emotionally drained, almost numb. She’s got no purpose, no spirit, and is desperately seeking someone who can bring her back to life.

Despite calling out for love, she fears inadequacy–it’s never quite enough. This causes fear in VEDA, worrying that she might be “too much” due to her emotional hunger.

The track’s chorus uses repetition of the words “down” and “drown,” reflecting the negative spiral the singer is facing and convincing herself she can’t get out and is losing control. Using “capsize” continues the water metaphor, emphasising how she feels like a ship on the brink of tipping over.

There’s an interesting mention of external complications too: “The mirror tells me / The TV sells me.” These things outside of VEDA’s control seep into her mind, adding extra pressure to how she already feels.

Ultimately, "I Breakdown" is a vulnerable portrayal of craving connection. VEDA’s use of water metaphors underscores the intensity of her internal battle, while the influence of external pressures adds a layer of complexity.

The song resonates as a personal confession and a broader commentary on the struggles when navigating feelings of inadequacy and loss of control.
