Difference between Premium and Standard Credits

Don't know which credits to use for which campaign? Learn more about credits in this article!

Artists are in a constant quest for finding new ways to expand their audience, so knowing the difference between Premium and Standard Credits will help you optimise your marketing campaign and get the most out of DailyPlaylists.

Both serve different purposes, have different costs and implications.
Here are the main differences:

1. Curator Quality

The main difference between Premium and Standard credits is that each of them connect your music to a different type of curator. On one hand, Standard credits apply to playlists on our free marketplace that have playlists above 100 followers. These Standard curators are predominantly learning their craft, gaining experience and growing their lists while honing in on the finer details to take their curation to the next level.

On the other hand, Premium credits apply for selected curators with playlists with a minimum of 1,000 followers. These curators have been hand picked by DailyPlaylists and bring a whole host of engagement and audiences to the platform. Premium curators have a more business and brand-focused approach to their curation, as well as more experience. This means that many Premium curators have parallel music projects spanning record labels, mix and master engineer and artist projects which give them a different vision on music curation.

Both of these curators are passionate about music, but each of them are at different stages of their curation careers. If you want to step up your playlist pitching game with a better chance at quality results, we recommend testing Premium credits.

2. Feedback & Reply Time

Premium credits guarantee you feedback from curators that you send your song to in a timely manner. Once you submit your song with Premium credits, curators have 7 days to review your submission. They can either accept the submission or reject it with feedback, so every declined submission will come with a personalised feedback from the curator. Also, if the playlist curator has not reviewed your submission after 7 days have passed, you will receive your Premium credit back.

For Submissions with Standard credits, curators have the option to decline submissions without giving any feedback and they have 21 days to reply. Don’t forget that standard submissions apply to our free tier -  a free marketplace where DailyPlaylists as a platform enables the submission, but does not take influence in the selection process.

In conclusion, Premium submissions have a higher value due to the reach of the curated playlists, the feedback given and the maximum reply time.

3. Cost

Every week, DailyPlaylists will give free standard credits for artists to submit to various playlists on the free tier. The idea is that you can learn more about playlist pitching and how to find the right curators on this tier. If you run out of standard submissions, you can buy additional credits: Standard credits come in packages and cost  $7.99 or $15.99; and Premium credits come in packages of 10 and 20 credits that cost $19.99 and $39.99 respectively at the time of writing.

We have credit promotions with discounts running through the year, so we recommend keeping an eye on our social media and newsletter.

Those are the key differences between Premium and Standard credits. Are you ready to get your music heard?
