How to increase your chances of successful playlist placements

Learn about how to improve your submissions to have the most impactful campaigns!

So you are an artist, you’ve just released a song and you ask yourself: how can I get my music heard?

Surely you will find thousands of tips on music promotion and music marketing on the internet (including hundreds of prompts for Chat GPT), but in this article we want to show you how DailyPlaylists works and how it can help you get your music heard.

DailyPlaylists is a music curation software and intelligence platform. We believe in music and music curation as a fundamental part of human development. That's why we support and power curators and music brands, and help artists connect with these curators.

DailyPlaylists enables two sides of the same coin: a marketplace, where artists can submit their music to various playlists for free. We give our users free Standard credits weekly, so they can start trying out playlisting campaigns. As the marketplace is free it does not guarantee any placements or engagement over the playlists. If all your free credits are used up, you can either buy more Standard credits for the marketplace, or switch to the Premium side of the platform. Here you can purchase and redeem Premium credits to submit to Premium curators - which have been vetted by the DailyPlaylists team. Here you either get a placement, or guaranteed feedback on your submission. And if the curator does not answer within 7 days you get your credits returned.

If you want to start promoting your music on DailyPlaylists, the first step is to sign up by connecting your Spotify account (we work with Spotify’s public API so the process is safe and easy). Then, search the track you want to promote on our Spotify browser (or paste the link). Once you’ve selected your track, you can decide to submit to Standard playlists or Premium playlists. Finally, send your song to the playlists and curators you think are a good match.

Here are 3 tips to get the most out of your song submissions on DailyPlaylists.

1. Listen to the playlists before submitting

This point is key when submitting your music on DailyPlaylists. Curators tend to be very picky and careful with the songs they add to their playlists, so genre selection is a first filter to get closer to the curators that are a fit for your music. A really good practice is to listen to the playlists before submitting, so you can better understand if the song and the playlist are a match.

2. Submit your catalogue - not just new releases

This might sound obvious, but you can only submit songs that are released and distributed to Spotify. This means that you don’t have to only submit new songs after their release, you can (and should) submit songs from your catalogue, songs that are not necessarily new but still capture the essence of the artist or fit very well to the curators playlist. Promoting all of your music (new and not so new songs) can have an impact on finding new potential audiences and converting into streams.

3. Use Premium credits

Expand your reach and get your music in front of influential curators who provide guaranteed feedback and can help skyrocket your exposure.  These curators have been screened by the DailyPlaylists team and have exceptionally high quality playlists and curation methods. These curators give you the best chance of finding the most engaged audiences for your music.
