Artist Highlight: NOANNE

This week's Artist highlight is NOANNE with her latest release "Lullaby" - discovered in our Track Explorer!

Isolation. That’s the first word that comes to mind when listening to “Lullaby” by NOANNE. Both the music and lyrics pull the listener into this lonely world. The song opens with NOANNE’s voice almost suspended in space, accompanied only by a dreamy synth that drifts in the background like a distant memory.

The opening lyrics ache with longing for the past. The speaker mourns a lost love, not just the relationship itself but the nothing moments too–smiles, warmth, touches. “Turned so recklessly to dust” suggests love slipping away carelessly, dissolving into the dark without a second thought.

Winter imagery creeps through the song, deepening the sense of isolation. “I went through this winter path, and now I am here frozen to death” paints a picture of emotional paralysis, regret hanging over the singer like an unrelenting chill. The repetition of “Feeling colder” amplifies this numb detachment, each refrain pulling her further into loneliness.

Without love, she is lost. Searching for direction, she finds no lighthouse–no hope, no way forward. This helplessness crescendos in the final, desperate plea: “Tell me, please,” repeated like a cry into the void. She reaches for any sign that she still lingers in her lover’s heart, but deep down, she knows–they might have already moved on.
