Top Rock Tracks Of 2016
It’s been a great year for all things Rock with killer new releases from the likes of Metallica, Biffy Clyro and Green Day but we’ve picked our top picks below for the bands and tracks that have caught our attention. Let us know what you think.
You Me At Six – Night People
The Surrey rockers will be releasing the follow-up to 2014’s Cavalier Youth on January 13 next year but You Me At Six made their anticipated comeback this summer with single ‘Night People’. Showcasing a fresh, heavier sound ‘Night People’ is a definite return to the rock realm for You Me At Six.
Architects – A Match Made In Heaven
2016 has certainly been a testing year for Architects and their fans following the devastating passing of guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle after a long battle with cancer. ‘A Match Made In Heaven’ was the lead single from the follow-up to 2014’s stunning ‘Lost Forever // Lost Together’ – ‘All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us’ and seems more poignant that ever. We have huge love for Architects.
The Virginmarys – Push The Pedal
Commanding, expansive opener from the Macclesfield trio’s second LP Divides, ‘Push The Pedal’ has been on your repeat all of this year. The Virginmarys stay true to themselves whilst showing growth and we can’t wait to hear what’s next from this band.
King Nun – Tulip
Four 18 year olds from London, King Nun made a huge impact with their ferocious debut single ‘Tulip’. In its frenetic two and a half minutes, it manages to give nods to the likes of At the Drive-In and Test Icicles.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes – Lullaby
Former Gallows frontman Frank Carter released of a new album with his band Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes last month. Track ‘Lullaby’ marked a new era for the singer with its driving, anthemic rock feel that explores Frank’s tender side.
