His‘Veto’EPwas the first seed sown of a relationship between the Soul in Motion co-founder and ProgRAM,and theyhave him back with the ‘Royal Blood’ EP. Four cuts deep with a rangeof styles on display, themonumental title track ‘Royal Blood’ is a rallying battle crywhereearth shuddering horns blarethroughout, giving it a movie score feel. The deliciously titled ‘Midnight at Morleys’ wobbles over rolling beats, subtle conga rides and distorted vocal patches.
Layered piano and a tight sub bass help give ‘Keep Going’ a classy, intricate sound on the EP’s most musical offering.‘Dummy’ closes the show with twinkling, delicate notesjuxtaposed with a grimy basslineand shuffling, pacydrum patterns. All in all,the ‘Royal Blood’ EP is an exquisite collection of tracks from an artist whose output continues to impress.
